Summer Quarter 2010 Featured Participant
Mikhail Slobodchikov was born in Russia in 1980 and moved to the
USA to pursue his career as a doctor and has lived in the USA
for two years. Once arriving in the US he began to study English
and research career options. Mikhail’s specialty is in
Ophthalmology, which is the study of the anatomy, functions, and
diseases of the eye. A friend in California recommended the
Welcome Back Center (WBC).
Spring Quarter 2010 Featured Participant
Yelena Kritovich is a nurse from
Russia and now lives in Auburn with her husband and two kids.
While she is studying for her NCLEX-RN exam, she became
certified as a Home Care Trainer in Washington State from a
program with the Welcome Back Center.
Tacoma Community College Cohort Program for Fall 2011

College is leading the Fall Quarter 2010 cohort for Nurses.
This program helps foreign trained nurses with test prep and training for the NCLEX exam.

WBC Nurses Class Summer 2010
"Foundations for Nursing Practices" is was taught by Maria
Carpenter, an RN. Students learned about the US healthcare
culture, NCLEX prep, ethics, and many more.
Fall 2010 Class Goes to the Children's Hospital

Friday, November 12th, 18 participants from English
Communication for Healthcare class were the guests of Judy Shorr
and the Recruiting Department for a tour of the hospital.
